How to solve the “download “incompatible” apps” problem onto JXD S7800B

One issue with the JXD S7800B out of the box is an inability to download apps that should be compatible from the Google Play store. The Technical Wiki explains this issue, with a solution: Google Play compatibility Many apps which should presumably be compatible with the S7800 are marked as incompatible, and thus can't be installed from Play. Many apps which should presumably be compatible with the S7800 are marked as incompatible, and thus can't be installed from Play. Try using the app "Market Helper" developed by "codekiem" ( download link ). It seems to work for some users, but not everyone. Alternatively, use APTOIDE or F-Droid. There is now a video tutorial for this solution:

The Dingoo-Scene JXD S7800B (Rockchip 3188 SoC) Android Gaming Console Review

1. Introduction      Since the introduction of the somewhat venerable Yinlips YDPG18, Android handheld gaming devices have been released pretty much continuously, by any number of Chinese manufacturers.      They’re not released with retrogaming in mind however.  Dedicated Android handhelds with physical controls for the consumption of nostalgic childhood memories are simply not in great demand in China, and accordingly, these devices have never been well supported by their makers, as far as the multitude of little tweaks and twerks that the Western retrogamer demands in the quest for ultimate emulation fidelity are concerned.  The view of China based manufacturers seems to be that the physical controls are an adjunct to the primary function of the device – hey, it’s an Android tablet, what else do you want?  Foremost among such frustrations has been OASS: “ornamental analog stick syndrome”, which sadly afflicts many of the devices released to date. What use are any physical cont

Touch screen feels a little on the cheap side. Tablet has a problem with moments of freezing for a moment of two if you try do such things like hit back a few times. Battery never seems to completely charge. It was hung on 99% for the longest time. I turned the tablet off to let it charge so I don't know if it ever hit 100% but after it started was down to 95% and the 93% without doing anything. EDIT: Plugged it back in for 30 minutes and it finally did hit f

Consistent with our mission to bring y’all the oldest possible news you may not already know, this is a great article from*cough* 2011, but from a great source, explaining why emulation still has a looooooooooong way to go to reach archival perfection: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/08/accuracy-takes-power-one-mans-3ghz-quest-to-build-a-perfect-snes-emulator/ Hmm – is that 1.5ghz Quad Core machine you’re holding REALLY running Pong properly?

iReadygo Much i5 Review by Deen0X

Image
[REVIEW] Phablet/Console iReadygo Much i5 (5" Quad-Core) Deen0X released their in deep review about this interesting gadget. The article pretends to "introduce" to any new user interested on this device, giving information about many aspects of it. The bad side is that the device don´t have a proper joystick driver, and you must use the own MuchKey (keymapper) to map dpad and left stick in separated way, but Tincore´s can give support to analog and make games such Dead Trigger to be played without problems. (but with linked controls). We hope this problem will be solved from manufacturer, because all are software related. The good news is... everything else! good screen, good battery duration, good feeling. This time, Deen0X's take their time to write the complete review in english, and you can read on the  their Blog .

iReadyGo Much i5 now available for preorder from Willgoo

Here are some vids of it in action: You can get more specs from the Willgoo page , and you can order for a mere $219.99 (and help me out too) – OK, it’s not a “mere” $219.99 compared to a pizza, but it’s kinda OK for a phone with controls, innit? Mind you, your friends might also think you’ve finally upgraded from that Nokia NGage! Ah, everyone needs new toys. Go on !

Retrocollect’s JXDS7300"B" Review (Or rather, JXD 7300)!

Image
A fresh (OK, July wasn’t that long ago now, was it?) review of the JXD S7300 has been posted on Retrocollect , and other than the fact that it’s called a JXD S7300B review, it’s a pretty good review! Check it out: And if you like what you read, even if it’s about the old square model, do spare a minute to click here to buy it , or better,  click here to buy the real JXD S7300B so I get a few drachma.

SNESFan’s videos of Nvidia Shield running PSP/PS1/N64/Retroarch!

Enjoy, as SNESFan runs the Nvidia shield - ugliest, heaviest, most expensive - and most kick ass emulation console on Planet Terra his side of 2013 through it’s emulation paces. Sure, you can run Shadowgun on it, but you’d of course be misguided .

New GPD7018 Handheld device, another Dual-Core alternative

Image
GPD7018 There is another dual-core device that wants to be popular where the dual-cores are dominated by JXDS7300B. This new device appears to be in some specs better than Archos Gamepad, and may be a serious alternative for JXD S7300B, where stability is not their strong poing, but this new GPD7018 appears to be so stable, inclusive at 1.5GHz of speed (yes, this device can handle this speed) The bad thing, their D-PAD is similar (but not equal) to Archos Gamepad, but is better. Fighting games can be played without issues with this! Other games such Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, running in the last Retroarch, run very well too! there are lots of vids about the device. You can check the review of this device on Deen0X's Blog (original in spanish, use translator tool) Zalu2!

Obscure handhelds covers the current state of handheld emulation gaming – August 2013

Image

GPD G5 « on: August 05, 2013, 11:24:02 AM » Hi, I just received these two images of a new coming GPD device: Seems that specs are nice and design is at least quite original, different to PSVita or PSP knock offs. I am not sure of screen size though, perhaps 5 inch  I guess. Here are the pictures. When I have more info, I will post more: No idea when this will become available or price, if I get more info I'll keep you posted.
